Microscopic Examination
The microscopic examination that is performed typically involves not only enumeration of organisms present but also, very critical, identification of the organisms down to at least the genus species. The identification of filamentous bacteria is done according to Dr. Eikelboom's and Dr. Jenkins morphological criteria. Below is an example of a microscopic examination worksheet:

Microscopic Examination Services
If you require professional services such as having a microscopic examination performed on your mixed liquor/sludge there are three levels of services available. After selecting one of the microscopic services and clicking on the "Add to Cart" button you will be directed to a secure PayPal website. You can pay using a credit card or if you are a PayPal account holder there are several other forms of payment services offered.
Basic Microscopic Examination
The basic microscopic examination involves the following: A typewritten report indicating types of organisms present. Report is sent via e-mail. There are no photos provided with this service. The Basic Microscopic Examination is $90.00 USD plus taxes.

Basic Plus+ Microscopic Examination
The Basic Plus microscopic examination involves a bit more than the Basic Microscopic examination and it differs in the following manner: A typewritten report indicating organisms present as well as high quality photomicrographs integrated into the report. The Basic Plus Microscopic Examination is $175.00 USD plus taxes.

Premium Microscopic Examination
The Premium Microscopic Examination is a bit more detailed than the other two types of microscopic examinations available. A typewritten report indicating organisms present as well as high quality photomicrographs and video integrated into the report. Also included in the report are references to aid in resolving operational problem. Along with report, a copy of the Wastewater Organisms Database is included at no cost. The Premium Microscopic Examination is $250.00 USD plus taxes.
